Real Work

I almost feel guilty sometimes saying that I am 'working' when I am sitting in front of a fan in front of my computer making an inventory list or something. What these men do on a daily basis to provide for their families is real work.

That is an old gross piece of raw metal that he is chiseling into what will be a beautiful piece of art.

The Artisan Village at Croix-des-Bouquets is loud, lots of hammers banging with men hard at work. More than beautiful things, this place sails my mind to a heavenly place. As the artisans bang out what I would see as old pieces of trash into something new, something beautiful and something of purpose, I see the Lord's power. What was I but tarnished before the grace of My God?

He makes all things new.

"Then He who sat on the throne said, 'Behold! I make all things new!' And He said to me, 'these things are true and faithful.'" - Revelation 21:5
